Year 5 and 6 General Information

By Year 5 & 6, players have developed a greater understanding of the game and transition to 7-a-side netball. The focus is on converting fundamental movements into foundational netball skills through performance and challenge. To support growth, players should rotate positions and receive at least half a game of play.

Season Dates: 2 May – 22 August
First 4 weeks are grading
29 August is held aside as a rainday

Game Times: 11:00am, 11:40am and 12:20pm

Game Format: 

• Games are made up of 8 minute quarters
• 1 minute breaks between the first and second and the third and fourth quarters.
• 3 minutes break at half time
• Change ends at half time only
• Games are played with a size 4 ball
• Goal height is 2.6 metres

Games may be played on either the College or Intermediate courts
