Welcome to Northern Suburbs Netball

Northern Suburbs Netball (NSN) is a junior satellite of Netball Wellington Centre, providing the opportunity for Year 1 to Year 8 students to participate in and progress through netball.

We are an Incorporated Society run by local volunteers, guided by a formal Constitution to ensure we best serve our community. Our focus is on creating an environment where kids have fun, play fair, and develop their skills in the game of netball.

Our Programmes

We run two distinct programmes designed for specific age groups:

  • Junior Netball (Years 1-2 and Years 3-4): Focused on fundamental movement and foundational play.

  • Senior Primary and Intermediate Netball (Years 5-6 and 7–8): Focused on technical progression and transitioning into the full 7-a-side game.

Our Constitution

As an Incorporated Society, our operations are guided by a Constitution registered with the Registrar of Incorporated Societies. Any updates to the Constitution are formally reviewed and addressed during our Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Match day quick information:

  • Venues: Games are held at Newlands College and Newlands Intermediate.
  • Parking: There is no parking on the College or Newlands Intermediate School grounds. Plan to arrive in plenty of time to find a park and then walk to the courts. Please respect our neighbours and don't park across driveways.
  • Food & drink: No food and drink is allowed inside the courts area except for water.
  • Spectators: The umpire must be able to freely move around the court at all times. Please ensure that the sidelines of the courts are clear of obstacles e.g. prams, bags, umbrellas, and chairs. These items are only allowed along the fence line – and with a clear gap from the court.
  • Assistance: Our committee and court controllers will be in hi-vis vests near the timekeeper’s station or roaming the courts if you need any help.
  • Behaviour: Netball is meant to be fun. No one has fun when behaviour on the sidelines is aggressive or derogatory. While each child (and caregiver) enjoys ‘winning’, please continue to be respectful and kind to players, coaches and umpires. Model the kind of behaviour that you would want to foster in your child, regardless of the result.
