Game Format
Years 1 & 2 participate in futureFERNS programme. They have a 25 minute skill season, followed by a 2 x 10 min game, with a 3 minute half time break. They play on Saturday afternoon during term 2 at Newlands Intermediate.
Years 3 & 4 participate in futureFERNS programme. They have a 25 minute skill season, followed by a 2 x 8 min game, with a 2 minute half time break. They play at the same time every week for 9 weeks. On the 10th week of the programme they have a mini tournament. All games are played at Newlands College on Saturday afternoon.
Years 5 & 6 play futureFERNS 6 a side netball. Games have 4 x 8 minute quarters with a 1 minute interval at 1/4 time and 3/4 time, and 2 minutes at 1/2 time. Teams swap ends at half time only.
Year 7 & 8 games have 4 x 10 minute quarters. There will be a 1 minute interval at 1/4 time and 3/4 quarter time and 3 minutes at 1/2 time. Teams swap ends at every quarter break.
